Why we ask for your details
Shopping for the people you love means remembering everyone's sizes, colors and tastes. PrefNest keeps them in one place, so you get the right size and the right gift without guessing and without asking again.
What we keep, and what we never do
We keep what you add: names, sizes, colors, style, loves, birthdays, trips, and photos only if you upload them. We never sell your data, show ads or use tracking cookies. Color and style analysis from a photo is opt-in, for adults only, and we keep just the written results.
How it is used, and who sees it
Only you see your profiles. Someone else sees one only if you invite them and tick what to share. AI assistants and stores you connect see only what you approve, and can't change anything; stores get a size suggestion, not your profile. To suggest sizes and gifts, what you search for and the sizes and colors of the person you're shopping for go to Anthropic's Claude AI. Sensitive details are encrypted, and you can delete a person or your whole account at any time.

Private by design
It's your family's information. Here's exactly how we protect it.
256-bit encryption
Photos, birthdays, addresses, phone numbers, important dates and trip details are encrypted with AES-256 before they're saved. The key is kept separately from the database.
Encrypted on the way
Every page and app connection uses HTTPS, and browsers are told never to connect without it.
Photos only you can see
Photos are stored encrypted and are never public. An AI assistant you connect gets a link that expires after an hour.
Two-step sign-in
A code is emailed every time you sign in with a password. Passwords are stored only as a salted one-way hash.
You decide who sees what
Each assistant or store sees only what you approve, and can't change your profiles. Stores get size suggestions, not your profile, and you can disconnect anytime.
Never sold. No tracking cookies.
We never sell your personal data. No ads and no tracking cookies: we only count visits with cookie-free, privacy-friendly analytics. Names and emails are kept out of our logs.
Kept only as long as needed
Store access history is deleted after 90 days, past trips 90 days after they end. Delete a person or your whole account whenever you want.
Consent for photo analysis
Color and style analysis is opt-in, for adults only, and we keep just the written results.

Questions
Is it free?
Yes. Creating an account, saving profiles and searching are free. Some AI features have daily limits.
Do I need Claude or ChatGPT?
No. Everything works on its own. Connecting an AI assistant is optional, for asking it to shop with your profiles.
What happens with photos?
Photos stay private. If you ask for a color or style analysis, the photo is sent to Anthropic's Claude AI to analyze, and we keep only the written results.
Can I use it for my kids and parents?
Yes, that's what it's for: one account with a profile for each person. Photo analysis is for adults only.
Can I keep profiles for family in another country?
Yes. Save each person's sizes in the system they know, like UK and India sizes for parents in Pune. Stores that use "Fit me with PrefNest" get the size in their own system.
